Hi
Opinionated, Infuriating, Humorous
but always Honest – I promise!
I’m a 72 (fast approaching 73) year old Grannie living in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I love to travel – and I love to go to the Theatre – and I love to eat out. I do it cheap – I do it expensive – So what could be more natural than a blog?
My plans for 2019/2020 were – besides enjoying the glorious city I call home – Montreal – include trips to Utah, Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto, Koya-San, Osaka, Nara, and Narita), Maine, Holland, Charlotte, Columbia SC, Charleston SC- not to mention London. By my standards, a slow year for travel.
My girl-friend and I (she’s just turned 77) shared an adventure holiday in England and Scotland, then a wonderful trip to Japan. After that – I’m trying to convince here to go with me to Columbia, South America. It’s supposed to be inexpensive – and safe for little old ladies these days. She’s not convinced yet. We might end up in Australia.
No tours, no guides, no knowledge of languages other than English and French – just us and a very limited budget of $50 per day, per person.
Read all about it in my blog posts!
With COVID-19 still very much with us – our plans are of course on hold – but time marches on – so I just celebrated my 50th wedding anniversary. If you’d like to know what that was like – check out my blog posts.. starting around day 150 of COVID lock-down.
While not traveling – I’m back to my normal plan – report on the restaurants I’ve visited, the theatre events I’ve attended, the fun free stuff I’ve discovered in Montreal, and the places I’ve been. And given Covid – sharing info on how that’s impacted my life.
My goal – become famous.
My BHAG*? – get 500 followers by January 1, 2020 – and I’ve achieved it! May 2019 – I’m at 503! September 11, 2020 – my 50th wedding anniversary- and I’m at 535…
I’ll need another BHAG* – but meanwhile – I’m soaking up the glory!
How can you help? Well – following my blog is a wonderful way to start. I promise to not being boring – and you can promise to make comments. It’s a deal.
Have a totally wonderful day – and remember the turtle – You can’t get ahead if you don’t stick your neck out.

thanks for the blog. I enjoy reading it.
Hi Leslie, Happy Holidays! I enjoy reading about your free spirit. You sound a little bit like me. I am heading to Mountainside Resort in Stowe this January and saw that you left a review to email you. I was wondering if you knew which 2BR buildings were renovated or had a nice view? I’m mostly looking for clean and comfortable.
Lisa
Tricky question to be honest. I personally own two units at Mountainside, and I’m on the board. So my opinion would be biased. This said, each unit is personally owned, and individually decorated. The housekeeping team is great – and units in the rental program, when you check in thru the front office, are cleaned properly. I’m sure you will have an amazing time in my home away from home – Stiwe, Vermont! Leslie
you need to update the dates and future plans to the present!
So done – and updated again. Itβs hard to keep up with my travels, eh?
Doing my best…
